A visit to nursing home in the “International Day of Old People” On 1.October 2013 was marked the International Day of Old People worldwide, which makes us remember our grandparents and other older people, but it doesn`t mean that we have to forget their contribution in each one of us.
We, members of the North Latvian Leo club, decided to participate this day in Valmieras nursing homes organized event-concert.
We thought, that it would be nice, to make people living in nursing home happy this day, so we made cards for them which were full of our hearts warmth. We gave them the cards at the beginning of the concert while one of our Leo members Alexandra was reciting a poem. While some of the nursing home residents were enjoying the concert, we went to the rooms of those people who couldn`t come and see the event for some various reasons. It was so nice seeing the smiles on those people faces when we gave them our prepared surprise. It will remind us a long time of this day and that these people too, are important.
After this nice event North Latvian Leo club decided that we are going to go see these people once a month and just spend some quality time with them participating in board game afternoons.
