New Board and new members 
This year the same as last one election of new
chairpersons was held electronically which has been accepted by all members as some
LEOs are not living in Latvia anymore, some are in summers camps and some are
just travelling around. Luckily the members living abroad are as active as always.
Two new members were welcomed – Terēze Jakmane and
Laura Balinkeviča. As their parents are members of Valmiera Lions Club it
allows creating closer cooperation with Lions and being together for example in
yearly summer sport camp which this year was held on 30th of July in the sport
base „Eži”.
Taking into account that a lot of members will very soon reach age that
no longer allows to be a LEO (according to international rules a person can be
a LEO until the age of 30) president Ivita Šēla wishes to spend the last years
actively, support each other, see the common goal and always to remember the
feelings we had when the LEO club was created. And also keep in mind the basic
principles of a LEO club: Leadership, Experience, Opportunity.
