LEO club is visiting children in the hospital during the Christmas
On the first day of Christmas North Latvia LEO club
members were visiting Vidzeme hospital to give joy to the children staying in
the children disease section during Christmastime. 10 LEOs were cheering
up children with the juices from Pure food, mandarins and games. Together with
the kids LEOs were painting candles, drawing cards, making Christmas tattoos
and paper tulips.
Member of the LEO club Zanda Brakša is saying: “It is
really sad if you have to spend Christmas in the hospital, away from your
friends and family. So we decided that we could cheer the children up right
there, in the hospital. This is our first activity and we really hope it could
become a tradition. It was a fun event and I think we managed to make the day
more interesting for the children staying in the hospital.”
Ivita asked about the impressions said: “For the first
time in my life I was experiencing such a Christmas joy seeing how happy and
sweet it was. I was smiling about it for a long time!” Hopefully also the
personnel of the hospital liked it and we can continue the activity also next
year! (December 2007)
