Lions Club Jurmala visits Moldova From November 7 to 11, members of the Lions Club Jurmala Zigmunds
Klīvis, Aldis Sāmītis and Aleksandrs Bērzkalns visited Moldova to meet their
Moldovan partners as well as to participate in the international investment
forum “Invest Gagauzia 2019”. During the visit, the LCJ members met with the Latvian Ambassador to
Moldova Uldis Mikuts, the Governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of
Gagauzia Irina Vlah, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of
Moldova Sergiu Harea, the President of the Lions Club Tiraspol Liudmila Glemba
and members of the Chisinau Rotary Club.
During the meeting with the Gagauzian leadership, Latvia's
cooperation with Gagauzia, including joint charity projects, was discussed.
While meeting with the the President of the Moldovan Chamber of
Commerce and Industry Sergiu Harea, the parties exchanged views on economic
development and business prospects in Moldova as well as on prospects to expand
cooperation platforms between entrepreneurs of both countries.
As part of the visit, the LCJ attended the annual international
business forum “Invest Gagauzia 2019”, held in Comrat, Gagauzia, which this
year was attended by more than 400 participants from 13 countries.
The visit to Moldova was organized in cooperation with the Ministry
of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and the Investment and
Development Agency of Latvia.
