Aluksne hospital receives Lions donation (July,2013)

24th of July 2013 our club had guests from LC Land Hadeln Otterndorf (Germany). We have
long term friendly and fruitful partnership. Our guests along with visit in person
brought also a gift - 3000 Euro donation to Aluksne hospital. Practical accomodation of
donation upon mutual agreement has been handed over to LC Aluksne in co-operation with
hospital management.

Roots of co-operation between our clubs can be found in rather far year of 1999 when
actual president of LC Land Hadeln Otterndorf Hermann Gerken, being Mayor of Otterndorf
at that time as well, has visited Aluksne for the first time. Aluksne hospital has
received donations from LC Land Hadeln Otterndorf several times since that.

Our guests had an possibility to witness large changes been taking place in our hospital during
last more than 10 years, also by means of EU co-funding. Regardless of that hospital is still in
need of help from community to obtain many necessary things to increase quality of patient
treatment and therefore co-opration with LC Land Hadeln Otterndorf is truly very highly appreciated!

Our club held a gathering meal close to beautiful side of Aluksne lake. Happening has been made
even more memorable by special meal made on open fire by our chef Viktors. His performance
has amazed both - our club fellowes and guests from Otterndorf. Thus we had a nice and
relaxing time together. See some moments in pictures below.
