On the eve of the 95 Anniversary of the Republic of Latvia

The Second Charity Clubs Ball “Atbalsti Māmuļu!”*

in the Riga Latvian Society House
(Merķeļa Street 13, Riga)
The Ball donations will be dedicated to the Riga
Latvian Society House lobby’s renovation.
CHARITY BALL PROGRAM
18.00-19.00 Arrival to the Ball/entrance with Entry
Card and red or white rose.
Welcome drink - a glass of wine.
Background music in the Great Hall played by saxophonist
Janis Danevics.
19.00 Opening speech by the Latvian Society President, Rotarian Guntis
Gailītis.
Small concert - Chamber Choir "Austrums" and opera singer
Armands Siliņš.

Anniversary!
19.40 Dinner in the Golden Hall.
The Ball head Maris Pīlācis (Riga Rotary Club Amber) invites the guests to the Dinner - two
buffet tables (cold cuts). There will be tables for standing, as well as tables
and chairs in the Golden Hall, Great Hall, and up the balcony.
21.00 Polonaise in the Great Hall, led by
Maris Slokenbergs (Riga Hanza Rotary Club).
Music will be played by the orchestra “Bellacord”.
Ball’s mixed choir. Those who wish to stay in the Golden Hall, will have a chance to sing
together in the Ball’s mixed choir conducted by Arvids Platpers and his accordion
accompaniment!
21.40-23.00 Charity auction, led by Andris Rigerts (Club "33").

24.00 Festive speech as the first
commemorating Latvia’s 95th anniversary.
The red-white-red bouquet of roses prepared by the RLS Applied Folk Arts
Studio "Rezeda” placed on the stage. The National Anthem, a glass of Champagne
(donation of Freixenet), and - unbelievable, but the Ball goes on!

The Main Prize – outbound trip with the travel agency "Relaks Tūre"
02.00 The Culmination of the Ball - solemn
night procession of all Ball’s participants to the Freedom Monument to lay the bunch
of roses. And again at the Freedom Monument - songs from the heart with Arvids Platpers!
OTHER ACTIVITIES
In the 3rd floor lobby will be exhibited paintings by the famous artists
Džemma Skulme, Jānis Kalnmalis , Juris Ģērmanis, Sarmīte Caune, Artis Bute
donated for auction, as well as other valuable items, lottery prizes, of which
the main - outbound trip with travel agency "Relaks Tūre".
We invite to support in the auction also the young artist Anna Kenne’s
painting. Anna is a girl affected by cerebral palsy, but despite this,
sponsored by the Rotary Club of Riga Rīdzene, last summer Anna bravely
participated in the "Tall Ships Races 2013" regatta from Helsinki to
Riga. The painting donated to the auction is Anna’s thanks for the new color
given to her life.
At the same venue - a unique chance to pose for two most famous Latvian portrait
painters - Juris Ģērmanis and Agnija Ģērmane.
In the Presidential Salon - not least a rare chance to pose for famous
photo artist Gunārs Janaitis.
There will be two bars in the corridor between the Great and Golden Halls
and a bar on balcony.
In the Golden Hall during the dinner - Clubs video presentations.
GUESTS
The President of Latvia Andris Bērziņs and the First Lady, the former State
Presidents, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Saeima are invited to the
ball as the guests of honor.
The Organizing Committee encourages the Clubs to invite their foreign
friends, their town first officials, as well as other people, who support and
favor the idea of charity.
This year the Ball will be without the presence of the press. The
Organizing Committee will give the press release and photos from the Ball to
the media after the Ball.

What is included in this amount?
- The donation for Riga Latvian Society House’s 1st floor lobby renovation
(for working out the project and commencing work); lease of premises, welcome
drink (red/white wine, water), chamber choir’s and Armands Siliņš’ concert (artists’
donation), fees for orchestra “Bellacord”, hall and table decorations, waiters’
service, champagne at midnight (donation of Freixenet), singing together with conductor Arvīds Platpers
(artist’s donation) and unforgettable midnight march to the Monument of Freedom!
HOW TO PURCHASE THE ENTRYCARD?

The payment order field "Purpose" shall include:
DONATION to the 17th November charity event held by RLS (please write donation!)
Field "Beneficiary": guest names or, if paid by club - club name and
number of guests.
HOW TO GET THE ENTRY CARD?
The Clubs or individual guests have to receive the entry cards till the
1st November at Organizing Committee or your assistants at the
Committee. Your ENTRY CARD is the entrance ticket (which you receive after
payment).
Only people not living in Riga will have a possibility to receive the
entry card before the Ball at the entrance.
WE INVITE THE CLUBS’ REPRESENTATIVES AND GUESTS:
- To bring to the Ball red or white rose, it will be added to composition
and after the midnight brought to the Freedom Monument.
- Till the 1st November to bring clubs’ flags or banners, which will be placed
in the Great Hall. Please leave the flags and banners in Riga Latvian Society
house at the person on duty with reference to Māra Kokina.
- Till the 1st November to send electronically the club’s logo and up to
20 photos with 1-2 sentences long descriptions of important events in the club (it
can also be a PowerPoint presentation) that will be projected during the Ball.
